Wasn’t it Joe Biden who told us to “gird our loins” if Obama gets elected? He wasn’t kidding!
Barack Obama set the expectations during his presidential campaign, and now he gets to deal with the consequences. Syria’s Bashar Assad, one of five leaders Obama declared ready to meet without preconditions, says he’ll be happy to meet with Obama, but only on those terms:
Syrian President Bashar Assad said in remarks broadcast Monday that he wants a dialogue with the United States but there should be no preconditions by the Obama administration.
Then there is this piece of irony over at Gateway Pundit:

Unknown gunmen opened fire at a checkpoint outside the U.S. embassy in Yemen on Monday, hours after the mission said it received a threat, but a Yemeni official said no one was hurt.
Hardline Islamist insurgents captured the central town of Baidoa on Monday, an important stronghold of Somalia’s fragile government and seat of the national parliament, witnesses said.
Just hours after Ethiopia withdrew its last troops from Baidoa and pulled back across the border, fighters from the militant al Shabaab group moved in.
Battling government troops and local clan militia, they captured an old granary serving as the legislature, the airport, and the home of the country’s acting president, locals said.
Soon after the November election, al-Qaeda’s No. 2 leader took stock of America’s new president-elect and dismissed him with an insulting epithet. “A house Negro,” Ayman al-Zawahiri said.
That was just a warm-up. In the weeks since, the terrorist group has unleashed a stream of verbal tirades against Barack Obama, each more venomous than the last. Obama has been called a “hypocrite,” a “killer” of innocents, an “enemy of Muslims.” He was even blamed for the Israeli military assault on Gaza, which began and ended before he took office.
“He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection,” an al-Qaeda spokesman declared in a grainy Internet video this month.
In the face of all of the above, Obama has managed two foreign policy-related Executive Orders: no more harsh interrogations, and no more Guantanamo Bay, the one place we can actually incarcerate these people. Oh, he did authorize funds to pay for overseas abortions. Hopefully, that will placate them.
I can feel it. We are on the verge of victory…
