Disgusting.

Eighteen and pregnant, Sycloria Williams went to an abortion clinic outside Miami and paid $1,200 for Dr. Pierre Jean-Jacque Renelique to terminate her 23-week pregnancy.

Three days later, she sat in a reclining chair, medicated to dilate her cervix and otherwise get her ready for the procedure.

Only Renelique didn’t arrive in time. According to Williams and the Florida Department of Health, she went into labor and delivered a live baby girl.

What Williams and the Health Department say happened next has shocked people on both sides of the abortion debate: One of the clinic’s owners, who has no medical license, cut the infant’s umbilical cord. Williams says the woman placed the baby in a plastic biohazard bag and threw it out.

I won’t print the rest of the story, because it is unbelievably disturbing. Murder. Plain and simple.

The fact that abortion was even an option when the child had the potential for a live-birth is also disturbing.

Addendum: It seems to me that you can avoid these types of problems by simply outlawing abortion once the fetus is viable (even potentially). And don’t give me the “well, if you make it illegal, people will just do it on the black market” nonsense. That is true of any crime - anything that is made illegal is pushed to the black market (purchasing of drugs and weapons), or is done in secret (murder, theft, etc.). That’s not a reason for keeping it legal. And most people will not choose to have an abortion if it is illegal, or if they have to do it in some back alley. Most people are law-abiding citizens, and we should work under that assumption.

PS - And I know using the terms “live-born” and “baby” are redundant, but putting the two together in the title signifies the killing was during or after an abortion.
